Thank you for showing events like these and presenting them in art. It proves that even when LGBT people do hide their sexuality as asked to, hateful people will still unveil it as an excuse show their sexuality to others. American cops used to go out of their way to raid lgbt establishments the same way those cops did with events like Cairo. A lot of minorities start off wanting to integrate and not budge the status quo, but hateful people take advantage of timidity to hurt others. I worked for a refugee center and a lot of the immigrants remained inside, I bought pizza, soda, and baby bottles with my spare income monthly.

Suppressing sexuality and gender identity was never about decency nor protecting children, it's about having the leverage to hurt minorities. The reason why they made minorities sign false confessions is because hateful people know that it is easy to manipulate the public into believing lies about groups that they know little about. Right-wing politicians in my country did the same with undocumented immigrants, they claiming they were violent gang members despite having zero evidence of it. If they targeted groups that everyone knows about, then many would oppose them so hateful people target vulnerable fringe groups that everyone knows little about.

Pride month naturally exists not because of arrogance, but because of survival. It came from hateful people showing their gender/sexual identities to everyone and shaming it to ostracize them, pride is a way of showing it to everyone before hateful people do and being happy about it. The white house claims that everyone is bugged by the existence of undocumented immigrants, but they constantly show footage of them in the context of mockery and dishonesty. Hating minorities is about being superior to others, not about protecting anyone. Bigotry is the the real arrogance and "shoving it in faces"/"cramming it in throats", not pride.

You are a blessing and gift to many, don't let others tell you otherwise. You are not a mistake.
